Metals are ubiquitous in today’s hardscape and are used in a variety of applications. This course will go over the
most common materials, their appropriate usage, and the various methods of manufacture. You will
also learn more about the process of custom design with the aid of a manufacturer.

Description of Course: This course will include a visit to the Ozark Green Roofs Warehouse where participants will see the materials used in green roof systems: growing media, drainage mat, irrigation, drainage mat, and geofoam. After the warehouse visit, participants will be going to the Fayetteville Public Library to visit a green roof that is currently under renovation. Participants will make a rough planting plan and then help to place plant species on the roof via flags.

The Seventeenth Annual Central States Conference will be hosted by the Oklahoma Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects in Tulsa on May 4-6, 2022. Save the date to learn and connect with your colleagues in person!
The Central States is comprised of six individual chapters of the American Society of Landscape Architects. These chapters come together once a year for camaraderie, learning, advancing the profession, and to celebrate their best work. The six ASLA Central States chapters are Arkansas, St. Louis, Iowa, Oklahoma, Prairie Gateway, and Nebraska/Dakotas and encompass eight US states: North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and Arkansas.
Join us for a two-hour virtual presentation and panel discussion with four representatives from the trail planning, design, construction and maintenance fields. Discussion will focus on the impacts of trails on both rural and urban communities including challenges with agency approvals, design challenges, tourism and economic impacts of trails, community building and the role of trails in transportation options.
